Children Ministry

Children's ministry should be one of the most fun and dynamic ministries in your church, right? But sometimes ministries lose momentum after years of doing them the same way. Volunteers grow tired. And in a society where children are inundated with '"child-friendly” experiences at school and the mall, even the kids can grow bored with child-targeted programs. What do you do when you need a fresh wind to breathe new life into your ministry?

A children's ministry can take diverse forms. In many settings, it's a traditional Sunday school department headed by a hardworking lay leader and a cadre of committed volunteers. Some children's ministries end up as pseudo-educational child care arrangements. Overall, the common denominators of most children's ministries are their structural components: curriculum, programs, facilities. Can a children's ministry exist—possibly even thrive—without these?

Unquestionably. We have permitted God to transform our ministry to kids into something dynamic and alive. We view youngsters as a core element in the church body. For us it's all about God—and kids—in church.

For 2009, we are radical in our approach to a thriving kids ministry.  For the next three months, we have a program where we want to teach our growing children how to share the gospel anytime/anywhere.  Many of them entered the Sunday School as a young child learning the Bible every Sunday.  Mainly music program in the form of rhythm and movement is used to reach our precious tots.  A worship band is being formed in the Kids Ministry where our teenagers are encouraged to serve.

We don't want kids who look like us [spiritually]. We want to train up a generation that surpasses us.  That's part of what drives the children's ministry at ECCI.  I believe children's ministry is central to our church.   "It's a core value, a priority."   We're creating a platform for the children to desire God more than anything else. Everything we do must help a child find purpose in Christ. Part of that is giving children the tools and opportunity to become involved in ministry themselves. So we continue exposing them to the areas of the church where their spiritual gifts are needed and useful.

I believe what every pastor would love to see in their children's ministry: children becoming disciples of Jesus."

People are God's beloved children. From the very oldest to the very youngest. "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."(Proverbs 22:6).

We believe that every child is special and precious to God. Each individual is fearfully and wonderfully made, born with a destiny. It is our aim to help children to know God and have a personal and intimate relationship with Him; to love, obey, and follow Him all their lives. The children can grow up secure in Jesus' love for them.

ECCI Children Ministry is designed to be a fun, ministering, safe and secure place for every child. They engage the children, making church fun for them while teaching them the Word of God and providing pastoral care and a safe, healthy environment.

Service Time: Sundays

9.00 am to 10.30 am

11.00 am to 12.30 pm

Departments:

Year 1 to Year 6

These young ones can get to know Jesus in a fun, exciting way. They'll learn that they are favoured and blessed, secure and free to be themselves because they are His. The services consist of praise and worship, preaching, small group sessions and games. They also have cool and awesome happenings like camps and end of term events.

Kindergarten to Prep

The children learn that they can reign in life as they are always in the centre of God's love. The praise and worship, Bible lessons and craft activities are planned based on specific themes each week. Snacks are provided at break times.

Nursery (1 month to 3 year olds)

These precious little ones are unique individuals with great destinies in the Lord's kingdom. Here, the teachers and caregivers shower them with loving care, ensuring that they are spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically and socially stimulated!

ECCI is the only church that conducts 'mainly music' on Sundays.  We hope to reach out to working parents with young children who are not available to bring their kids to a weekday program.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
